I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m guessing if you found your way to this site you’re looking for some help; maybe with your relationships, maybe with your body, maybe with grief. Those are my areas of expertise, and I’d love to help you find your way through the weeds. I’ve spent about 25 years in my own wanderings and I hope I can help you find some new tools, and a little bit of equanimity.
I work mostly through the lens of the body.
I experience and process the world through sensation, and I had a hell of a time figuring out how to manage that in a culture that’s so cognitively focused. I spun in circles for years around all kinds of things, and learned lots of neat brain tricks, but the healing didn’t stick until I found somatic practices and real live secure attachments. If you’re in a similar boat and need some help, I have a compass.
Here are some of the tools I work with:
Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent. It’s a framework for embodied consent that helps us learn to answer two of the most important questions in any interaction with other humans “Who’s doing what to whom?” and “Who is this for?”
Somatic Experiencing. This is a trauma resolution modality that relies on curiosity, resource building, sensation tracking, and attention to the nervous system by both the client and the practitioner.
